Harris County ESD 47 commissioners are elected for a term of four years. To be eligible to be a candidate for the office of ESD 47 commissioner, one must be a resident of the District and be at least 18 years of age.* Also see the Texas Secretary of State's website: https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/candidates/index.shtml.
A person does not qualify for emergency service district commissioner if any of the disqualifications as set forth in 775.0355 (c) of the Texas Health and Safety Code, Title 9, Subtitle B, Chapter 775 apply.
The next Harris County ESD 47 commissioner election has been called for November 7, 2023. The District will establish polling place(s) for the election which will be provided in the Notice of Election. The last day to file for candidacy is August 21, 2023.
